Protective Relays
Protection that trips when it should - and only when it should
Protective relays are the last line of defense for your generators, switchgear and utility interconnect. We test, calibrate, program and coordinate them - with NETA-compliant documentation the AHJ and your insurer will accept.
Capabilities
What we cover
Relay Testing & Calibration
Secondary injection testing of SEL, GE Multilin, Beckwith, Basler and SEL-700 series relays using Doble, Omicron and Megger test sets - pickup, timing and trip verification to NETA ATS/MTS standards.
Programming & Settings
Relay programming, settings file management and version control - including importing utility-provided settings, validating logic equations and documenting every change for audit trail.
Coordination Studies
Time-current coordination studies, arc-flash analysis and selectivity reviews using SKM, ETAP or EasyPower - ensuring upstream and downstream protection trip in the right order.
Utility Interconnect Compliance
Rule 21 and IEEE 1547 compliance testing for paralleling and export systems - anti-islanding, voltage and frequency trip verification and witness testing with the serving utility.
Generator Protection
Function-by-function testing of generator protection elements: 87 differential, 32 reverse power, 40 loss-of-field, 51V voltage-restrained overcurrent, 24 V/Hz, 46 negative-sequence and 81 over/under-frequency.
NETA-Compliant Reporting
Detailed test reports with as-found / as-left values, calibration certificates and deficiency lists - formatted for AHJ submittal, insurance audits and commissioning turnover packages.
